This song was written out of depression while living in Iowa. I was very homesick.

The sad truth … Out of all those people who I thought were my friends their are only 2 I actually keep in contact with. Jenny and Gary.

In the end Iowa turned out to be a necessary chapter in my life. My wife found her calling, became a nurse, and I’m now a programmer/stay-at-home dad. I probably wouldn’t have gained the necessary computer skills if I we stayed in Cheyenne.

It gave us a chance to know ourselves better, and while I wouldn’t want to relive it, it was necessary.

We probably would never move back to that town again.

Lyrics

It’s so lonely here,
where are my friends?
It’s so lonely here
The fun never ends.

Get a job
I had a job
Get a job

Get a job you stupid fuck
I had a job you stupid fuck
Get a job you stupid fuck
and I know that you can live here in Iowa

It’s so lonely here,
Where is anthony?
Where is Ricky

Where is Gary?
Tell me where they are.
Where is Mike on the guitar?
Where is home?

It’s so lonely here,
where are my friends?
It’s so lonely here
The fun never ends.

Get job you stupid fuck
Hey I had a job you stupid fuck
Ripped me away from my family 2 Christmas in a row

I’m going back to Cheyenne,
It may not be the greatest,
But it is home.

I had a dream,
that one day,
I would get back to Cheyenne
Absurd here it seems
Here in my dreams
One day I’ll get home

I’ll see Jenny
and hang out with Rick & Anthony
At Cheyenne
Drinking with Ryan necessary
& Caleb Too

Here in Cheyenne (3x)
The place I call Home
Here in Cheyenne (3x)
The place I call Home

One day I’m moving back to the place I call home
Oh Cheyenne …

Here in Cheyenne (3x)
I can shop 24 hrs
Here in Cheyenne (3x)
I can go and see Carol

Oh Cheyenne … (2x)

F** Iowa,

I remember when you were my dream

Sometimes when you look, when live.
The place that you are, it’s not always better on the other side.

[15,4,12

post-18","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-acoustic","category-music","category-rock
["GET
